THE BLITZ OVERALL

 

I will be releasing positional overall scores in chunks. Today will be WR/RB overall scores, followed by QB, and finally defensive overall scores. I will post the next positions in a few days from now.

 

The goal of this is to truly be an “overall” score so what you will see is one number as a grade. It takes into account receptions, yards, and touchdowns as the brunt of the score. There are also a few adders/biases added in for other stats like rushing, 2-pt conversions, and a few other things. I’ve always tweaked small things to account for play time, and you won’t see anyone’s stats that have 1 game or fewer played.

 

There are also NO subjective stats, which would be a deviation from something like a Madden Overall. Things like “awareness”, “catching”, “route-running”, or other are not tracked and would probably need a way larger stats cohort to track and decide information like this.

 

The ways I can see this being used are for things like: bragging rights, creative draft options (maybe if we apply “salaries” and team salary caps in a league season), and fantasy selection. Feel free to let me know how else this might be utilized!
