CJ’s Magnificent 7: Week 5 Top Fantasy Picks

#7. Ocho

Sometimes the season starts slow, but when the match up aligns, it’s time to make every catch count.

He hasn’t been great for fantasy and despite under performing so far this season he has remained $3 throughout every week. I believe this is going to be Ocho’s breakout performance. There must be a reason Wayne is not dropping his price! But seriously, it’s a good match-up and coming back after missing a week, Ocho is rested and primed to splash!

#6. Huevos Picantes

Defense wins championships. It also wins fantasy points.

The spicy eggs have put up more fantasy points than any other defense and are still only $2! They did get -1 last time they played Phin’s World, but that was against a breakout game from Bluesquid (who won’t be playing this time around) and with Lemnos at quarterback. Assuming Teeoh will take up Smith’s mantle in week 4, after having a phenomenal showing against Phoenix D, this should turn into a tough grind between two defensive mind-set teams. It’s time for Huevos Picantes to prove they are consistently one of the best defenses and I’m putting them here for value.

#5. Prism

A dream matchup turns every play into a symphony of skill and opportunity.

A $5 stud against a defense that has let up 70+ points to quarterbacks each week. We already saw what Prism can do when given the opportunity to exploit weaknesses in week 1. A QB/RB maverick, he’ll find any way he can to juke his way into the end-zone. If you can get to him, there’s nothing but upside in this high floor high ceiling play.

#4. Duxor

Like a comet, brilliance returns with each new orbit, ready to dazzle again under the right stars.

He still leads the league in most fantasy points in a game from week 1 (132). After two sub-par performances in week 2 and 3 against two of the tougher defenses in the league, Duxor may catch another breakout performance here with enough volume going his way. Duxor can make a boom!

#3. Toronto Triple Triples

Like the weather in Toronto, the Triple T’s defense is unpredictable. Expect them to bring a whirlwind of turnovers in their favor.

There has always been one defense that splashes into the optimal lineup each week. I think it has to be TTT this week, who should be back to their original lineup from week 1 where they scored 105.5 points! I don’t know if they get close to that this week, but I am predicting a solid 50+ point floor and if the game ever does go out of control, we know how high the ceiling is! They are pricey at $3, but if you can get to them, it should be worth it.

#2. Chiki_Won

In a matchup ripe with potential and at a bargain price, watch as this seasoned receiver transforms potential into points.

Chiki_Won enters the field poised to make waves. Will he play? He must. And for only $2 you must pick him up this week unless you think he won’t play. I of course, also could not pick him up, since I will be doing my best to stop him. But coming into a game where all the other elements are the same from last week’s shootout, Chiki_Won is poised to be the splash value play of the week!

#1. Jeffster

He’s the wild card that keeps us guessing. With highs that soar and lows that confound, he’s the ultimate thrill ride on any given Sunday.

A boom or bust QB, he’s been a roller-coaster ride with highs and lows, but when he booms, he’s the ultimate splash value play! He won’t be $3 for much longer, and there’s no reason to think he’s going to regress now (unless you’re a hater). This should be another shootout, with Young putting up more big numbers after adapting his new playbook to the league, and showing the community he can still sling a pp to his favorite wide receiver again and again!
